Students
Harry and Connie Katowitz were lifelong residents of Jackson County, MO, and were very active in their community. In addition to founding and owning Katco Rubber and Supply Company in Independence, Harry was a member of the Sugar Creek Optimist Club and the Eagles Club, and Connie was a member of the American Business Women's Association, the Ladies' Oriental Shrine, and the Bingham-Waggoner Estate. Harry and Connie were also members of the Truman Library for many years. The Katowitzes cared deeply for children, sponsoring youth baseball and basketball teams and supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs for many years. The Katowitz family established this scholarship to honor Harry and Connie's legacy of supporting young people in the community.
