As mentioned in Phil's article in the lead of this newsletter, recently, nonprofit agencies from throughout the region came together for our 28th Annual Grant Luncheon. As a community foundation, it's our responsibility to bring people together, and this particular event is an excellent opportunity for donors and local nonprofits to network and learn from each other.

During the event, 62 competitive grants were awarded to support the projects and programs of 59 local nonprofit organizations. These grants totaled more than $450,000, with additional funding provided by our current fundholders and other partners amounting to more than $40,000. The funds will support a variety of projects in the areas of health and human services; arts, culture, and historic preservation; children's education; community betterment; and adult/nontraditional education. These projects will impact the lives of individuals, children, and families throughout suburban Eastern Jackson County and beyond.
