The Grants Workshop will be located at from 10:30am until 12:00pm at Midwest Public Risk located at 19400 East Valley View Parkway in Independence, Missouri,
The workshop will cover some important changes made to the foundation's grant program for 2025.
"Truman Heartland Community Foundation is committed to addressing the changing needs of our communities, and ensuring all agencies are aware of this funding opportunity," explained Diana Castillo, Vice President of Community Impact at Truman Heartland Community Foundation. “In 2024, we had a record-breaking year in awarding over $516,000 in grant funding. As our program grows, we’re continuously invested in making sure new grantees are included and that a wide variety of organizations in the area have a fair opportunity to receive funding.”
Our Grants Program is open from early January with deadlines approaching March 10 and March 24. The free Grants Workshop on February 6 will be hosted for nonprofit organizations to help them level up their grant-writing skills, learn how to navigate our grant applications, and make sure they’re positioned to be competitive in this process.
During the presentation, attendees will be introduced to our two grant programs: the Community Grants Program and the Jelley Family Foundation Endowment for Children’s Education Grants. Additionally, they’ll learn important details about how to navigate our NEW Grants Dashboard, which has had some changes for the 2025 cycle.
To ensure a diverse portfolio of nonprofits being funded, the foundation had a goal last year of allocating 10% of funding to new grantees, and the foundation surpassed that goal by achieving 22%. The foundation will continue to allocate dollars to new grantees in 2025.
"We love the opportunity to support a wide range of nonprofit organizations that are making an impact and improving communities." Castillo continued, "supporting critical issues and creating positive change in our Eastern Jackson and Cass Counties communities is extremely important to the foundation."
This workshop is in high demand, and therefore, the foundation requests that only one person per organization register due to limited space. The session will be recorded and made available on the THCF website. Organizations that serve Eastern Jackson County and Cass County and have never received grant funding from THCF in the past are strongly encouraged to attend and apply for funding. However, it is important to note that attendance at this workshop does not impact any organization's ability to receive a THCF competitive grant.
Registration for our Grants Workshop February 6 is currently open and available!
