Past Recipients of our Competitive Grants Program
Truman Heartland Community Foundation invests in the local community by awarding competitive grants to nonprofits that serve those living in Suburban Eastern Jackson and Cass Counties.
2024 Competitive Grants
Truman Heartland awarded more than $516,000 in grants to 64 area nonprofits, with more than $84,565 provided by Truman Heartland's Youth Advisory Council (YAC), the Junior Service League of Independence, and multiple donor advised fundholders at the foundation. Insperity was the presenting sponsor for this heartwarming event again this year.
2023 Competitive Grants
Truman Heartland awarded more than $450,000 in grants to area nonprofits in 2023, with $40,534 of that provided by Truman Heartland's Youth Advisory Council (YAC), the Junior Service League of Independence, and multiple donor advised fundholders at the foundation.
The 28th annual THCF Grants Luncheon was held in November 2023, where we presented 59 agencies with their grant awards. Insperity was the presenting sponsor for this heartwarming event again this year.
2022 Competitive Grants
Truman Heartland awarded $491,937 in grants, with 59 total grants awarded. Endowment Funds provided $436,005 of this, and $55,932 was provided by other current fund holders and partners.
2021 Competitive Grants
There were $427,323 in grants awarded this year through 61 grants. Legacy Gifts provided $291,548 of this, while $90,740 was provided by other fund holders and partners.
