Big Brothers Big Sisters Needs YOU!

Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City (BBBSKC) works to clear the path to a child's biggest possible future by matching them with a caring adult mentor in a one-to-one friendship. "Bigs" help "Littles" ignite, empower, and defend their potential by standing with them.

BBBSKC has more than 200 Littles waiting to be matched with a Big. Eastern Jackson County has the most urgent need, as there are 90 Littles on the waitlist.

Ian wants a Big who will go fishing and likes to go to the park.
Skyler loves riding bikes, fishing, camping, swimming, and playing basketball, and wants a Big who wants to do outdoor activities.
Eden loves watching movies and drawing but also loves being outside.
Isiah likes playing sports and wants to go pro one day. Isiah says, "I want a Big who can push me to be a better person and guide me as a young man."

Littles are in 2^nd grade and beyond and want and need a Big in their lives. Bigs and Littles meet two or three times a month, taking part in everyday activities like going to the movies or grocery store, talking about day-to-day challenges and victories, and more. You don't have to be perfect to be a Big; you just need enthusiasm, curiosity, and the desire to get involved!

If you want to learn more about the steps needed to become a Big or know someone in your circle who would be interested, we encourage everyone to join us on November 2, 2022, at the THCF office for a 1-hour Bigs volunteer info session. There are no expectations, just an opportunity to learn more about what it takes to be a friend and mentor to a child in your community.
