Can You See Into the Future?
Because you cannot know the needs of our communities in 5, 10, 50 years and beyond, the Truman Heartland Community Foundation (THCF) community grants making committee steps in to steward gifts in our undesignated community grants fund.
Made up of active community members from our Board of Directors and Advisory Boards, the Community Grants Committee makes informed funding decisions to benefit charities that apply to the annual community grants process. After grant proposal review, onsite visits and much research, the committee stewards undesignated gifts to the charities who are currently serving pressing needs in the community.
The Power of Giving to Community Grant Making:
Since 1982, undesignated giving has awarded more than $4.6 million to non-profits serving the community. Grants have fed the hungry, given special needs children the opportunity to learn, allowed children to experience the arts for the first time and helped beautify our communities.
